Thank you for booking onto Building for tomorrow 2021.

Here are some FAQs that might assist you if you have any queries at this stage.

Q. When should I receive my booking confirmation email?

A. You should receive your confirmation email between 10 minutes to an hour after you book. If you don’t receive this, please contactus@building-for-tomorrow.co.uk.

Q. When should I receive my pass?

A. Your email address is your username and your pass and will be received via email on the 18 March. If you have bought multiple passes, then the associated email address per attendee will act as their pass. Building for tomorrow goes live on the 18 March so you can access the platform, create your profile and start interacting with other attendees and exhibitors.

Q. Does it matter what web browser I use to access Building for tomorrow?

A. It is advised to use Google Chrome, Firefox, or the most recent versions of Edge to access Building for tomorrow which is hosted on the Swapcard platform.

Some users are experiencing issues when accessing Swapcard using Internet Explorer or older versions of Edge. When trying to open the links from emails, it just shows a white page. If this happens please try opening the link in a different browser first. If the issue still occurs, please email contactus@building-for-tomorrow.co.uk.

Q. I’m an attendee and I can’t get on the Swapcard Platform. What do I do?

A. You will receive an email from Swapcard with a magic link on the 18 March. All the emails sent from Swapcard are sent from hello@swapcard.com. It is possible that this email ended in your Spam/Junk folder.

Once you click the magic link you will be directed to Swapcard and asked to enter a password. Please keep this safe. If you can’t find your email, you can request another one by entering your email address on the platform. From the point of setting a password onwards, to access Building for tomorrow on Swapcard either in the run-up to or on the day, navigate to Swapcard on your browser and enter your email and password. This will bring up Building for tomorrow as an event – click this to be taken to the event platform.

If you have previously logged into Swapcard but now can’t get back on, login as a ‘Participant’, enter your email and then you can request your magic link again.

Q. How do I use the online event platform?

A. Swapcard is an extremely user-friendly platform with a very simple user-interface. We will be in touch with you once your place is confirmed to provide you with instructions on accessing the event and using the platform. You will receive instructions on how to make the best use of the platform and how to get involved in the first ever virtual Building for tomorrow. The platform is hosted via web browser on your chosen device, so you will not need to download anything, nor allow permissions for any access to the files on your machine. This should avoid any problems with firewalls or internal IT structures. We advise you use Google Chrome or Firefox as the web browser for this platform.

Q. Why is Building for tomorrow going virtual?

A. Due to the unprecedented circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, Building for tomorrow 2021 will be hosted as a virtual event. As with previous years, the focus is still to guide attendees through key issues affecting the future of home building, but you can expect a wider range of topics and more keynote speakers to inform, challenge perceptions and provide solutions. In order to make the most of the event, make sure to add information to your profile ahead of time.

Q. Who will my information be shared with?

A. Your data will be collected and dealt with by the event organiser, NHBC, to allow you access to Building for tomorrow and its digital platform.

When you book, an account will be created with all the information that you entered. This account will allow you to access the platform and the attendees list to network before, during and after the event. Your data will be shared with Swapcard, our conference partner, exhibitors and speakers on the digital platform unless you chose to opt out. Your data will be protected and not commercialised. You have the right to access your data, as well as editing or deleting it.

Q. Can I network with fellow attendees at the event?

A. We recognise that networking at events is a key element. Using Swapcard, you will be able to chat with fellow attendees, exhibitors and sponsors at your own will. The platform uses a sophisticated artificial intelligence system to matchmake attendees with one another based on their activity on the platform, their job title, organisation, interests, and other variables. The platform provides an unparalleled opportunity for you to meet and network with a huge variety of people from across the country. You and your team attending the conference will be able to chat directly with one another and enjoy the experience together.

Q. I can no longer attend the event, can I apply for a refund?

A. Please refer to the attendee Terms and Conditions, or email us at contactus@building-for-tomorrow.co.uk providing the email address you booked with and your full name and we will get back to you within 24 hours.

Q. The details on my booking are incorrect, how do I change them?

A. Please email us at contactus@building-for-tomorrow.co.uk providing us with the email you booked with and the details you would like to change and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
